When Deng Xiaoping circled small fishing villages on the map in 1979 it marked the birth of this modern China city. These villages beside Hong Kong has grown since then to a population now of over 8 million.

Arriving here it is hard to believe the growth but you can see the business potential in this region. Manufacturing is huge and the opportunities are real for any new visitor.

First impressions from the downtown area give you the feeling that this is vibrant city. Streets overflowing with people and roads choked with traffic are a clear sign that things are moving fast here. The modern skyscrapers dominate the city centre while outlying areas have high rise apartment blocks everywhere.
This is a modern metropolis with people rushing around going about their daily lives from work to home.

Industry dominates here with a mix of factories and apartment blocks covering the landscape on the outskirts of the city boundary and beyond. Huge glass fronted high rise factories employing thousands of people are commonplace here. Factories that produce electronics, metal parts, plastic moldings, injection moulds, press tools, wire harness....to name only some! Household names we all know and many large local chinese manufacturing plants are located here.

As it turned out my Shenzhen business visits were frequent and I have gained great experience from travelling and doing business here. I want to share my experiences with you and build on the success of doing business in this area.
